HiYa All I am using SF10b I require help on the correct way to add CD Title and Track Names. When playing the burnt CD from SF10 in say Windows Media all it gives me is track I, 2,3 etc not the names of the tracks (and artists) or title of CD (says unknown CD name in WM ). I thought I added the Metadata correctly but seems not the case. This is what I am doing: On the SF timeline I add regions for each track then go to EDIT> TRACK LIST> CREATE CD TRACKS FROM REGIONS, then I go to VIEW> METADATA>TRACK LIST then I type in the track names in (heading TITLE CD TEXT). The track names (and track numbers and timed length) then show up in the grey area at the bottom of each region on the timeline, I also type the artists names in (heading ARTIST CD TEXT). Then also in METADATA > CD INFORMATION I type the CD title then BURN DISC AT ONCE AUDIO CD and make sure WRITE CD TEXT is ticked. So as mentioned at the begining of this post when playing the CD no track names, artist names or CD name show up in Windows media or any other CD/DVD player. What am I doing wrong? I look forward to your help and advice. Cheers from Downunder. Message last edited on7/19/2010 11:48:00 PM byDownunder. |

Many/most software CD players (incl. WMP) do not read CD Text. Same with many/most hardware players. |

To expand, WMP (etc) get their track info from Gracenote or CDDB online (Wiki them) , NOT from CD-TEXT. Wiki or google for instruction on how to enter this info for discs you create. geoff Message last edited on7/20/2010 5:27:13 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

Thanks for your reply(s) it is most appreciated. Geoff The songs and artists are new (unhead of) so what you are saying is I have to submit this info to Gracenote to show up in WMP, is that correct? Cheers from Downunder |

Yep. http://www.gracenote.com/company_info/FAQ/FAQs/ And if not showing on CD/DVD player, perhaps CD-TEXT not implemented on it ? Cheers from further downunder ! geoff Message last edited on7/20/2010 9:41:46 PM byGeoff_Wood. |
