My SF 9 suddenly stopped opening. I unstalled but now the program will not reinstall. The error message is Module C:\Program Files\Sony\Shared Plugs-In\Audio\sfmirror.dll failed to load. HRESULT-2147010895 I already have Visual C++ Has anyone come across this problem? I've been using the product for a couple of years without incident and haven't made any big modifications on my pc. Thanks! Message last edited on8/3/2010 8:36:53 AM byReilly. |

Here's something to try and usually works for me: When I have a problem like yours I not only uninstall the program I go through the Windows registry and delete EVERY entry associated with the program. I also go through the c:\ drive partition and delete any leftover folders from said program. Not all uninstallers delete these folders as well as cleaning everything out of the registry. You'd be amazed at what's left when some programs uninstall. If SF was the only Sony program you have on the computer then delete everything Sony-related. Second - I reboot the computer. Third - I reinstall the program. Turn off any antivirus programs as they WILL interfere with installation. Fourth - reboot before running the program the first time. You say you haven't made any significant changes to your computer. It's a sad fact of computer usage that even the seemingly smallest of changes can mess up a program. Jack |
