Subject:Recording wav with Acid 3 - click track question

Howdy! Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm finding it a bit frustrating doing multi-track recording with Acid because I haven't found a way to turn on a click track. Nor have I found a way to have a lead in of x number of bars before recording begins, once the record button is clicked. I simply can't get my hand away from the mouse and over to my synth fast enough to start playing on the first beat! Am I missing something? Has anyone got a suggestion? |

You can loop-record a particular segment so you can wait 'til the second time around to play. Or you can insert a fake click bar and include that in the segment to record--then remove it later. But you've exposed a dirty little SF secret: Acid is only designed to record short little loops. It doesn't hold sync well over long passages as a multitrack recorder MUST. And since SF is not ReWire-compatible, or any software recorder-compatible, they put the user in a huge quandry over how to overdub over grooves. Hello SF...ya listening??? |
