Subject:Bug - Export Region tool naming issues.

Every time I pick up SF10 and do something fairly basic I find a bug and get stuck with a crash, a corruption or just doesn't work properly and so revert back to using SF8 - but making a conscious effort to start reporting these.

This is the first one I've found after using it for 5 minutes. We're using this on a commercial level and it's highly frustrating to find things that worked fine in SF8 just don't work or crash in SF10.

Version: Using SF10b.

Testing:
Open a few files
Mark multiple Regions in each file. Call them a,b,c,d if you like.
Click the export regions
Export the first files regions - there is no problem here.
Export the 2nd file's regions - the name is shown clearly in the export dialog
When exporting the 2nd files regions it tries to keep them the same as the first files names.
I close all the files
Close SF10
Open SF10
Open the files
Try to export the 2nd files regions again -> Dialog pops up - give it a file name
On Export it still keeps the first file's names even though
1. That file is not open
2. I don't see where that could be stored
3. I name the file in the dialog.

I've had to open SF8 and use region export there and it works fine with no bugs.

It sounds like you are using identical prefixes. Perhaps you could provide a few actual file names. My guess is that they are all very similar and somewhat long.

Here are my results:
1) Sound 1.wav and Sound 2.wav both contain regions a, b, c, d

2) Tools->Extract Regions for Sound 1.wav, All regions selected, Destination folder is "C:\Users\<me>\Documents". File name prefix is "Sound 1". "Use long file names for destination file names" is checked.

2a) On Extract, I get: Sound 1 a.wav, Sound 1 b.wav, Sound 1 c.wav, Sound 1 d.wav in the destination folder specified.

3) Tools->Extract Regions for Sound 2.wav, All regions selected, Destination folder is "C:\Users\<me>\Documents". File name prefix is "Sound 2". "Use long file names for destination file names" is checked.

3a) On Extract, I get: Sound 2 a.wav, Sound 2 b.wav, Sound 2 c.wav, Sound 2 d.wav in the destination folder specified.

In cases where the prefix plus the region creates a name already present in the destination directory, you'll get the warning dialog. If you choose Yes, it will overwrite. If you choose No, it will attempt to to make the file name unique. If you choose Cancel, the operation will end.

You can test that behavior by repeating step 2 or 3 above.

Is this not the behavior you are seeing?
