I bought a new computer. IS there a way to transfer my Acid Pro 3.0 to this new computer or do I have to buy another one?

As long as you have the original ACID Pro 3.0 CD-ROM, you can install ACID on another computer. Just be aware you must be the only one using it. Pretty standard for a software agreement.

If you plan on giving away or selling your old computer, uninstall ACID Pro on that computer.

The word is around that the upcoming Windows XP will NOT allow you to put XP on another PC, even if it is yours! Locks on to your hardware ID's somehow. Ya gotta buy another XP! Tell me it ain't so!

XP will be using a software to hardware "locking" key. You will be able to change three of the ten items used to generate the key (hard drive, video card, etc.) without requesting a new key from Microsoft.

Uninstalling a license on one machine and installing it on another will require a new key from MS.

Sucks for admins who "ghost" machines.

Well, ok, it just sucks in general.

Hello,

You can only have Acid installed on one computer at a time because of the computer code. If you format the drive or change computers the code on the computer changes. But Sonic Foundry will give you new codes, just tell them your changing machines, and they'll give a new code.

See ya
