Hello, I have SFAS 9.0d which came with VMSP and when I try to import AVCHD video I get error message related to file type. I looked under video properties and did not see where I could include this file type. They are rendered as mp4. Anyone have a suggestion? |

You should import the audio into Sound Forge, not the whole video. I don't know if your version of Sound Forge supports AC3 audio, but first try "Open copy in Sound Forge" from the audio track in the Vegas timeline. If that doesn't work, just render the audio out to a WAV file in Vegas, and work on it in Sound Forge, then bring it back to Vegas as an audio track or take. |

If you can tell us what it is you want to accomplish with your audio there's a good chance we can show you simple and easy ways to accomplish it right inside Vegas without having to move over to Sound Forge at all. |

That is an excellent question! Sadly, there is no real purpose other than I have Sound Forge and never use it. I have a new camera and thought it might be fun to learn the program. I have moved video with other formats over to the program from time to time just to play around. New camera shoots Mp4 AVCHD and I was simply playing around with it and found out it was not recognizing the file type. I do realize that Vegas does most of, if not all, what SF does...just wanted to learn the program. Thank you for the help offer. |
