Can any one help. I am trying to record vocals and am getting a lot of distortion and feedback. My imput is also clipping out at max volume. I am running 3.0 and have an Audiophile 2496 soundcard. I am running my vocals mic through an Eurorack MX602A amp in through the Audiophile. I have tried lowering all possible input levels. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem. |

did you try muting the monitoring on your sound card? |

One of the most common problems is a mismatch between your mixer output levels and impedance and your soundcard's input. The soundcard usually wants a high impedance line-level input at -10db. If you are feeding it a low-impedance +4 level output from your mixer, you got problems. Some of the more professional mixers like the Mackies have switchable output levels between the two. Make sure you're at the low-level (consumer-level) output setting and that all the levels at all stages of your chain of audio are at nominal levels. |
