In that case, you could load in the previous vocal track and place it in the new project. However, if you're talking about bringing in a song you've ripped from a CD, you won't be able to remove the vocals. Once music has been mixed down to CD, it's impossible to isolate specific elements of the audio mix. This is because you're working with the final mix on a CD. Remixes and vocal-less versions of songs are done using the original tracks recorded in the studio.
