Subject:ACID 3.0 Pitch/Time Stretching Quality?

Is it just me or does ACID 3.0 seem not to be as good as ACID 2.0 when it comes to transposing and time stretching loops? I'm noticing a lot more echoes and stutters (not CPU / playback related) when working with loops than when I used 2.0. Thoughts? SF folks: Has the time/pitch algorithms been changed or "improved" in version 3.0 compared to 2.0? |

Hello, There is a change for sure that I've noticed in both stretching and pitching, But I think the overall sound quality for playback and recording is better, I noticed the change for the better in recording instantly. Listen to two recorded tracks side by side 1 from 2.0 and 1 from 3.0 and you'll see what I mean. The MP3 encoding is much better in 3.0 also. Just my thoughts. See ya |

I've noticed that drums especially sound a lot worse on playback during time stretching. More stuttering and echos. I don't know about recording because I use Vegas for that stuff. |

I found that drums start adding up echos when using a delay effect and some corus settings will do it also. So I try not to use delay on drums but I do use corus and EQ on drums, Just being carefull which corus setting I use to prevent echos. |

I'm well aware of the fact that putting an echo effect will add... echo. And that a chorus effect will add... chorusing effect. I'm talking about the basic algorithm of ACID 3.0. Since no one from SF is answering my question, I'm beginning to get the feeling that they've screwed it up. |
