I've done a lot of recording with ACID and am happy with the program. Is there any reason to use SoundForge for my audio instead? Many times I record the tracks on my ancient Akai DPS-16 and then dither the tracks to a CD and fly those into ACID for mixing & mastering. Will I get better overall quality from SoundForge?

If you are happy with the tools in Acid there is no reason to do it in SF. There is nothing inherently different about the quality between the two.

Thanks. I'll stick with ACID just like I did in the '70's.

Note also that Sound Forge is not multitrack. If you use multiple tracks in ACID then you won't be able to do the same sort of project in Sound Forge.

You may find the workflow in SF (and/or in CDA) easier ) - fewer distractions.
