That comes with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. Newbie here. I recorded a couple songs in concert with a Canon 5D Mark II . I was mainly shooting pix so I didn't bother with the audio setting. But I shot some video and the sound is distorted . Being completely new to all this, can this be fixed with the Sound Forge that comes with the Vegas MS Platinum? |

You would need to upload an example of your original audio somewhere. You could render out a section as WAV from Vegas and that would let us see what you mean by "distorted." If what you really mean is that it is clipped, it is unlikely that much can be done. |

Well, processed by Youtube is not original audio, but it's enough to tell us that there is absolutely nothing you can do about it with any software. Sorry. Message last edited on12/2/2010 8:50:35 PM bymusicvid10. |

Musicvid is quite correct; what you have here is the equivalent of only filming the singer's knees, then asking someone to reconstruct the body, face and stage! In a nutshell, small, brief & occasional audio overloads can sometimes be 'fixed' to sound acceptable..... Message last edited on12/3/2010 12:32:03 AM byChristoC. |

That's not even clipping. That's RF splatter and batteries going dead. Absolutely hopeless. |

To the OP: If you want to do something like this again, I'd suggest using an external mic with the 5D. Not sure but it should have an external mic connection as I know the more expensive Canon models that do video have them. And if you do this take a tip from the pros and use some sort of blimp covering (aka wind shield) over the mics to block out wind noise. There are some nice small mics some of which are even stereo (2 channel) in one body. It's really not all that far-fetched to use one of these cameras to shoot video. A number of production companies for both TV and movies are using the Canon 7D. One I know for sure is the crew that shoots Tony Bourdains's No Reservations show for Travel Channel in HD. Jack |
