Subject:Help with fade-out

Hi. I've been using Acid for about two weeks now, and consider myself to have an intermediate working knowledge of Acid 2.0. The problem I'm having is this: I like remixing a lot of rock songs and, unlike rap songs, lots of rock songs tend to fade-out. I was wondering if it is possible to fade-out a song in Acid the way you can with Easy CD Creator 5.0 or a similar device. What I mean by fade-out is that the volume slowly gets quieter and quieter until the song is dead. I know you can slow down the tempo, but I want to know about the volume. Thank you very much. Mike.

Mike - Most versions of ACID have volume envelopes. You can get more specific help regarding these by choosing the program's Help menu -> Contents and Index -> Index tab, and typing "envelope." Envelopes can be used to control the volume on each track in an ACID project, and while you can co-ordinate an overall fade using envelopes, you're going to get a more consistant version of the effect you want saving your project as a .wav, then opening it up in a sound editor (like Sound Forge XP Studio) and fading the entire mix at once.
