I'm not really sure how .acd files would be converted to .wma files... If you inadvertently saved a project as a .wma, you won't be able to convert the .wma back to .acd. This is because the .wma, as well as .mp3, .wav and .aif are audio files only containing two tracks of audio information (and some miscellaneous bits). On the other hand, .acd files are data files that ACID can read to know what loops to use, where to use them in a project, how fast or slow the project should be, what effects are used, etc. Think of it as a collage. The .acd file contains pointers to all the bits of art that go onto the collage, how they should be placed and if they should be cut up. The .wma or other audio file is like the final collage itself. Once you've pasted it all together, it's pretty hard to get it all apart again, and it's impossible to do this where audio files and ACID project files are concerned. Now, I'm off to thoroughly confuse some other users... ;) |

Hello, Does the file still have the .acd extension and a wma icon or does the file have a .wma extension? This is important to be able to troubleshoot the prob. Thanks, Rockit |

One other note the files are being saved as wma files right from acid. I am useing acid 2.0 if that makes any difference. |

Okay, you should be able to change the format of file that you're saving from ACID. You choose the format to save when you go to File -> Save to save your file. In the Save As dialog box, there's a Save as type selection with a dropdown menu. Click that dropdown to choose the format you want to save your project in. |

I am aware of the save as function the problem is that the only format options acid gives me is wma, and real audio formats I tryed to reinstall acid but this did not help. If I cannot get these files back to a acd format I have lost weeks of work (cry). |

Just for kicks try going into your Windows Media Player and go to options and deselect everything for file types and close the program. Do you have Siren Jukebox? |

It sounds like you might be using ACID XPress 2.0. The earliest releases of ACID XPress 2.0 only allowed for saving to .rm and .wma. Shortly after the first couple releases, the ability to save to .acd was added. Could this be your case, or are you using a purchased version (Style, Music or Pro)? HTH Joel |
