Subject:No sound / peaks when adding new media

I add an MP3 or a WAV to a new ACID project. It doesn't build any peaks for the new track. I hit play and no sound.

However when I open the properties dialog box, I see the peaks, and can play it in preview mode. So in the properties dialog box, the track behaves just fine. In the real app, no dice.

I've tried with many, many MP3s and WAVs just to make sure it isn't corrupt media. But these files play great in other apps, including Vegas Video and SoundForge.

Did you draw out an event on the new track?
