Subject:SF 9.0 normalize question

Does anybody noticed that when you normalize part or a region of a sound file the whole wave form changes peaks. Does that mean the whole sound file is affected by normalize (not just the selected part of it)? Or is it just something that happens on the screen and nothing happens to the rest of the file?

Hope somebody understands what i am trying to ask.

So, you're saying that when you highlight a region of audio and normalize it, the peaks for the entire waveform change? Are we talking drastic changes, or severe changes. Have you tried doing extremes and checking the VU meter to see if the peaks have actually changed? I would say this is just a screen issue, as I haven't run into this. Check with extremes in normalization and see if other peaks are affected.

Rob.
