Subject:Upgrade to Sound Forge 10 from Audio Studio 9?

I own Vegas Pro 10, Audio Studio 9, and Cubase 4. Is it worth taking advantage of the 50% off upgrade offer to get Sound Forge 10 for $159?

I'll mainly be using it to restore bad audio for our video projects.

Does Audio Studio do just as good a job at Noise Reduction and time stretching as Sound Forge? Vegas already has the "elastique" time stretch.

It's tempting, but I fear I might be going overkill with Sound Forge..... but then again, $159 for the pro version sounds good.

Hmmmm...... I guess there isn't much activity on this forum. Is anyone able to offer an opinion?

If it were me, I'd do the upgrade. It puts you on Pro upgrade path for future releases. Go to the SF page and see the product comparisons. Weigh out what the added features are worth to you and make your decision based on that. I can't do without the batch converter and the auto-trim/crop features that come with Pro. There are other reasons, but those are the main two.

NR-2 is worth the cost alone and it's included with SF10, as well as CD Arc if you need to make Audio CDs (though SF-10 can burn DAO discs) and the iZotope mastering plug in bungle.
When a new upgrade is available SCS usually offer a discount price as well, however I have heard nothing of SF-11.
Check out the comparison between SF and AS.

I decided to buy the upgrade.

Audio Studio 9 has "audio restoration" but it looks like Noise Reduction is better.

I also have already found the Time Stretch in Sound Forge to be better than in Audio Studio.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
