In Vegas Help. search for SPLIT SCREEN previews. It tells how to do this.

Split screen will show you a 'before' and 'after' the FX (I.e. without and with the FX) but does not show your two cameras side by side for comparison and balancing/correcting.

I believe that is what the poster is asking about~

If you read the help, it will show you a scene copied to the clipboard and the current scene so you can match scenes.

From the help file

You can use split-screen previews to help match colors between clips. When the split-screen preview mode is set to Clipboard, the Video Preview and Video Scopes windows will display the frame you copied to the clipboard and the current frame.

Maybe you can open multiple instances of Vegas. Each instance will have its own preview screen. Have each camera in each instance, save the color correction settings for each camera then bring all the clips into one instance of Vegas and use the saved color preset?

Dave's method is probably better though.

Just use Track Motion on one the tracks to move it off to the left. The other track will show through on the right.

Reset/remove the track motion when you're done, of course. ;^)

I've used Dave's method for years now, but I have to say I do like the TM option. Hopefully the cameras weren't on auto WB? As long as both cameras we set to a fixed WB the error will be consistent.

Whatever you do use, DO use the Scopes in conjunction with your adjustments too.

As Dave said, there's no need for multiple instances of Vegas or using Track Motion or anything else. The Split Screen tool will do it all by itself! Just take a snapshot of the footage you with to compare to the clipboard. Then go back to the footage that needs to be adjusted, turn on Split Screen, click on the little drop-down arrow, and choose "Clipboard". It's really very simple.

True, but the snapshot is a still and the Track Motion gives you both tracks playing. Depending on the type of footage, it might be easier one way or the other.

Boy was I shortsighted!

That split screen does a whole lot more than I realized!

Thanks for making my day a bit smarter....
