Mirko,

Are you able to open the backup of your project? If you have enabled automatic backups in your "preferences", then try and open one. There are two ways to do this:

OPEN A BACKUP FROM ACID:
1. While Acid is open, navigate to the folder your project is saved using the explorer window.
2. There should be two copies, if you have backup enabled. Single click on each, and you'll notice one is listed as "ACID Project" and another as "ACID Project Backup". Open up the backup by double-clicking. It's one save state previous to your project.

OPEN A BACKUP IN WINDOWS EXPLORER:
1. Launch your Windows explorer.
2. Navigate to you project directory where the file is saved.
3. If you project's name is "XXXX.acd", look for a file named, "XXXX.acd.bak", and double-click it. If the file is not associated, choose ACID to open it when Windows prompts you to do so.

Also, if you don't have backups enabled, do it this way:
1. Open Acid.
2. Click the "Options" menu and select "Preferences".
3. Click the "General" tab.
4. In the "General Preferences" window, look for the option listed, "Create project files backups on save", and check it.

That'll be it. Good luck, and let us know if this works.

Hope this helps,

Mirko,

I assure you that Acid is a wonderful music composition tool. We need need to work out some problems on your machine. Let's begin with some questions:

1. How long have you been getting this message? Did it start recently or has it always done this? If it just started, have you made any recent changes to your setup?
2. What version number and build of Acid are you using?
3. What are your machine specs, ie, OS, motherboard, sound card, RAM, processor, etc?

Answer those questions and we'll try and nail this problem down.

Regards,
Nick LaMartina

Mirko,

I have a question and a recommendation:

QUESTION:
What is the build and version number of Acid that you are using?

RECOMMENDATION:
If deleting a certain folder creates an error, regardless of its contents, then don't delete it. You can't tell what's neccesary based upon its size.

Get back to me with your version and build number...

Regards,
Nick
