thanks for your help. One question though, can you just use vegas or do you need guitar tracks? and what typeof adapter for vegas? thanks

Yeah Vegas is the way to go. Pick up a 1/4"to 1/8" adapter from Radio Shack or wherever, But one thing to consider is the guitar cable is Mono, and the 1/8" part of the plug will be Stereo, but should'nt be a problem.
