I have been using my trusty Tascam 4-track for the past few years to record music, and now want to be able to clean it up and burn onto cds. I know this is basic, but would someone be kind enough to tell me exactly what I need to accomplish this? Many thanks in advance, Amonte |

What you need...using Acid you mean? Or a Sonic Foundry app. I'm not a professional at these things (just a music enthusiast at home), but I would think Vegas Audio would be more for you. Check out the demos available at this site, under downloads at the top of the screen. Hope this helps Later. |

cool, thanks. I guess I meant starting from absolute scratch (just a Tascam and my PC here at home)......do I need Acid, Soundforge, etc, to transfer what I have recorded already on analog tape to my computer? |

I don't have any programs yet, I actually just bought this PC yesterday (HP, 128 MB, 40. GB, CD-RW)....but I have tape after tape of old Tascam casettes (as masters) that I'd love to be able to turn into cds, with the help of this PC and the burner......is Soundforge the application I need? Acid? Vegas? Thanks for any/all light you can shed on this..... |

Hello, Sound Forge and Vegas is what you need. Acid is for composing music from loop or recorded material, or whatever audio you want to use that is supported. See ya, Rockit |
