Subject:Sound Forge lost my serial #

I use Sound Forge on an average of at least once a week. Lately, I've been using it several times a week. This evening I cranked up the laptop, and started SF but it came up with a screen saying that it needed my Serial # and it wouldn't let me in without it. This is the 2nd time in about 6 months this same thing has happened. Why does this occur? I've been using SF and Vegas Pro lately for work and so I'm in and out of both of them all week long? This is getting old...

Normally only happens if some significant change has occurred in your system - enough to change the computer signature ID (major hardware, OS upgrade, etc).

It take a few minutes (if that) to make it go away if you are internet-connected . If not it becomes more of an inconvenience. If this has happened twice in 6 months, is this actually a problem ? I can imagine it would be a problem if it happened , say weekly, especially if for no explainable reason. ....
