Subject:Arrrrrgh!!! Lost my Soundforge CD

I have a registered copy of Soundforge 7 on my laptop and for the past week all my Sony apps have been flaking out. Now, SF can't load any of my plug-ins, (OK, EQ & Dynamics so far) and I guess I need to reload it. However, I can't find my SF7 CD. I'm sure it's around here somewhere but I don't know where after searching for it. What can I do to get SF reloaded short of an upgrade to 10?
I've got the Serial # for v7.
Thanks,

Mike

All of your software information, including registration and download links to your software, can be found by going to Forum Settings, then My Software.

Take a deep breath.

Thanks. Yeah I've got everything notated on My Software except my SF7. It shows SF6. It's OK though because I've got the Serial # for SF7 and I'll have the machine ID as well.
This whole thing is weird. First it was DVDA that wouldn't start when I clicked on it's icon. I read that to fix that I needed to uninstall and reinstall which is what I did. Then after I got DVDA fixed, then Vegas Pro started doing the same thing. At about the same time Sound Forge started asking me to register my product although it's been loaded on my laptop for close to 3 years. Once I got the serial # and entered it I was able to start working again but then, like I said, my plug-ins have disappeared. So the only thing I know to do now is reload Sound Forge. Only program that hasn't wigged out is CD Architect.

Sounds like you may have a hard drive on the way out, overheating, or a bad stick of RAM. These are extremely unusual symptoms to span multiple independent applications.

Unless there has been a major hardware or OS change that would trigger an altered Machine ID. But seemingly that's not the cause in this case.....

I've considered that possibility as well. This machine has served me very, very well, but it is going on 4+ years now. I guess I need to start looking. I don't need any downtime on my machine. I'm smack in the middle of a series of videos at work plus a bunch of projects at home as well.
