V. 9.0 of Sound Forge Audio, using the Vinyl Recording and Restoration Tool, worked perfectly for the first few vinyl records. Every since one since fails to recognize more than a few tracks. I know I can record manually and then locate the tracks from the sonogram, but this adds greatly to the time required to transfer LPs to digital form. Has anyone found a workaround for the Vinyl Recording Tool? Message last edited on8/23/2011 3:16:06 PM bybookman. |

I'm having a similar problem - from the first, this tool has always identified the whole record as a single track on every record I've tried. |

It works by detecting periods of (relative) silence for a particular length of time. If you record is noisy, or has minimal or no gaps between tracks, then it is impossible to do automatically. Maybe there is a setting for 'silence threshold' and 'length' ? I would hink this wold be incorporated into presets. Sorry I don't have the app so can't be more specific. geoff |
