Moving text attached to an object

Hello. I am working on a project where I want to attach some text to the body of a person or to an object. Then as the person or object moves the text should follow this movement. Just like some warrior in a game moving around with a cloud over his head. Of course I can put the text in text track and use frequently placed keyframes to follow the movement, but this is quite a time-consuming and tedious work. Are there other ways of doing this in Vegas Movie Studio? Is there any plugin or any additional software that I can use to do this? All suggestions are welcome.

Unfortunately, there are no automatic ways to do this in Vegas Movie Studio HD 11.

The only way to do it is to create Pan/Crop keyframes, as you've been doing.

Thanks for the reply. This is in fact exactly what I have been doing. I wonder are there any other ideas coming from other members that can contribute to the discussion.

In Vegas Pro you could use Boris Continuum Complete's corner pin tool (which is an additional commercial plug-in). In Movie Studio I think manually keyframing is the only way to go.

Just an idea...
If you accept the idea to spend some money, you could try iClone, where you can create a 3D path and have an object (e.g. your text) following it.
It should not be difficult to tailor the path so that it can follow the movement of your person.
Then, you can export the video and overlay with your one, provided that you have created a solid color background from iClone so that you can delete with chroma key.
Perhaps you can do this with the FREE basic version of iClone, which you can download from their website.
Actually I am also going to run some experiment pretty soon to see how to integrate 3D objects in my footage and vice verse...

Thanks Roberto65 I'll give it a try. Do they have a free version I have not seen it in their site.

....mmmh... It seems that after they churned out the new version 5 they called off the possibility to download the version 4 (basic) for free...
You can eventually download one of the trial versions (30 days) and see it can help.
