Subject:Problem with Playback speed when using s/pdif output vs analog output - ideas/advice?

When I play an acid file through the analog outputs (e.g.1/2) of my gina card, the sound is perfectly normal.

However, when I play the same file through the digital output (e.g. S/pdif), the tempo of the song slows down by almost 50%....

This is also true when I record a song by taking the s/pdif digital out and connecting it into the s/pdif digital in on my gina card.

In both cases, asny use of the digital channels dramatically slows the playback speed.

How can I get a normal playback speed when using the digital outputs and inputs?

Hello,

First you should not feed the digital out to the digital in on the same sound card because your feeding it's own signal to itself. And if you want to use digital out you need a digital decoder to convert the signal back to analog. The only other thing you can do with the digital output is feed it into a dat recorder. You can't send a digital output directly to regular speakers without going through some kind of reciever to decode the signal. You would also have to patch the wave output to the digital signal to get anything out of it. And the clock on the sound card needs to be set for the digital input to keep it synced when using the digital in. You can't feed regular "analog" signal into the digital input.
It can only recieve Digital Signal.

Hope this helps, Rockit
