I'm not yet a Sound Forge user. I'm choosing between this program and others. I will use it for sampling and editing sounds files for music.

1. I'm a programmer, so I'd like the tool to be flexbible enough to allow adding your own pieces to it. Does SF expose an API, and is this API documented for public use? Some APIs are good, but the documentation is so poor that it's useless anyway. What is the general idea among programmers about making extensions to SF? What are the typical languages to use?

2. Have been looking for a list of supported CD-R drives, but found none on this site. Is my PlexWriter 8/2/20 supported?

3. Is the Batch Converter tool free for SF users?

Hi gustafl,

1. No, I don't believe this is available for SF.

2. My Plextor 16/10/40A is supported, so your model probably will be too. Try downloading the SF demo and checking it out to be sure.

3. Yes, the Batch Converter is free when you purchase SF5.

Best,
Scott
