Subject:File names missing with mp3 files in iTunes ...

Just as a FYI for folks here, ran into a "feature" that appears to be a Sound Forge Studio issue. I had converted a number of audio files to mp3 for my iPod - most of them were converted via other methods, but two of them I had converted (after a couple of tweaks) in Audio Studio. When I imported them to iTunes, the two that had been converted/modified with Sound Forge Audio Studio were there, but without their names. After a bit of investigating (yes, Google is my friend), I found that apparently iTunes (and probably other stuff as well) will show the file name of the file if the mp3 tags are missing, or will show the name from the mp3 tag if present. Unfortunately, Sound Forge Audio Studio apparently stuck several unprintable characters in the name field for the mp3 tag so the file name doesn't show, but then neither does the mp3 tag name either. Just thought I would pass it along if others run into this :-)

I should add that the mp3's created from wav files using my other utilities did NOT have anything in the mp3 name tag and as such, they showed up just fine.
