Help re applying animation to curve appreciated.

This might be straightforward, however, I've never had a request (and therefore a need to implement) it. I'm contemplating how to have an image (.png) simply animate along a path (I need to have an image rotate into the screen & then stop (while another image simulataneously rotates out. Think of it as an overhead view of a couple of pictures placed onto a "lazy susan", then have the lazy susan rotate and stop at a certain position.

Yes, I might be able to set this up, but I was wondering is there a straightforward way to create a path in Vegas & then have an image track the path. Obvious place to start was "Track motion", but I can't see an esy way to keyframe a smooth, circular curve.

Any suggestions? I've searched the forum for a variety of terms, as I think there was some discussion some time ago, but can't find anything. If Vegas cannot do this can BCC (or any other plug in) as I assume this is a common need??

Thanks in anticipation.

I asked this a while back, I was told that motion paths were done away with a while back. Why? I have no idea why?

Maybe you need to know some trig mixed with some geometry.... and when you have a simple arc figured out you let us know what all the keyframes are.... sounds ridiculous but at this point how else do you do it?

Have you looked at Vegas's 3D fly-in / fly-out transitions? They let you control how the objects move to a degree.

Or, if you put each object on its own track, you can use the track motion controls to size and place them as you wish, and, for that matter move them around, in and out. This works pretty well too.

No man alive knows the reason motion tracks were removed from Vegas. People have pretty much stopped asking . . . .

Thanks Widetrack. I hadn't realised that motion paths had once exited in Vegas, bizarre that they went - maybe they'll reappear in V.12!

I appreciate your response and I'll continue my quest - Geometry isn't my strongest suite.

Duncan,e-mail me your details and I will send you the veg

In the template delete all the event tracks not the 3d parent tracks and the first 2 event tracks

On the event tracks manipulate the first and last key from where you want the entrance point to be and then duplicate track 1 on top and slide with key lock on into position butting up. keep duplicating and sliding media into position for as many events as you need.
.same with bottom so that the tracks will fan out, right click drag and drop your video or pics into white media and select add as take.

If you want it with more than 2 image = say 6 etc I can do 1 and send it to you, not a hassles as I always keep all sorts of templates and use them daily.

if its ok as is just duplicate top track slide and duplicate bottom track and slide etc.
