RED Camera Footage

I'm fortunate enough to know someone with several RED cameras and he's training me to use them in trade for some editing. He uses Adobe but I was pleased to see that Vegas Pro 11 can handle RED footage natively. However the highest render quality I'm finding is still only 1920x1080x30p Isn't there anything higher? Thoughts?

You should be able to select any resolution up to 4k x 4k. What format are you trying to render to?

The highest available! Doesn't really matter to me eg. 2048x1152, 23fps?

What format are you trying to render to? Here, in Vegas 10, the maximum resolution allowed depends on the output format. e.g. MainConcept AVC will allow 4k but Sony AVC won't.

Oh I got ya! I'll have to check that out.
Most RED footage still gets rendered down to h.264 at the highest for TV and even Blue Ray. But the quality within that is still stunning!

I have Vegas Pro 11 There is NO render quality anywhere that is higher that 1080p
My Footage is 4k. How do I output (render) 4k?

If your project is set for 4096x2304, then just select the "MainConcept AVC/AAC" output format and choose a starting template, like "Internet HD 1080p", then hit the "Customize Template" button and under "Frame Size" select "Use Project Settings", select the appropriate frame rate and field order ("Progressive" in this case.) Select a bit rate and render. You might want to save this as a custom template. I just tested this with the Lagarith codec as well as Cineform NEO.
