With Vegas 8 you need to be sure to use the right level of Quicktime.

As I recall, new versions of QT regularly broke Vegas in the Vegas 8 timeframe.

You might want to try to install the latest trial version of Vegas with the latest QT - I use their templates and MOV files with no problems whatever in Vegas 10 and 11 with the latest QT - 7.7.1

Footage Firm Stock Footage uses PhotoJPEG for HD; so as long as QT is installed on your system, PhotoJPEG should open in Vegas 8 with no problems.

i'd check to make sure QT can play your file and that the codec is PhotoJPEG (Ctrl-I in QuickTime player).

if the media is SD, Footage Firm uses DV-AVI and DV-MOV... depending on codec, DV-MOV may be Mac only; try the AVI version (native PC).

Install version 7.6.2 of QT for compatibility with Vegas Pro 8.
