Subject:Acid Pro 2.0 key wanted !

I own official licenses for both Acid Music 2.0 and Acid Pro 3.0 .
Music runs on a Win95 laptop, Pro runs on a Win98 desktop.
I can't upgrade the laptop to Win98.
A way to work better is upgrading from Music 2.0 to Pro 2.0 on the laptop.
Customer service refuse to give me a key (although version 2.0 is no longer sold, although I have two Acid licenses).

Can anybody send me a valid serial number for I can register online and get an activation key ?

I swear I don't intend to cheat. It's for my personal use and for ONE computer only.

Please e-mail me at bs717779@skynet.be

Thanks !

Seems only fitting the first two letters in your e-mail are "bs"!!

There's nothing wrong with either of your serial numbers. I looked them up and they are registered only to you, so I am not sure why anybody here would refuse to activate your software. E-mail customerservice@sonicfoundry.com with your computer ID or call 1-800-577-6642 and we can get you set up.

"bs" is for b_ll sh_t!
The way I read it, you're trying to get a key to upgrade without paying the extra. Music 2.0 is inferior to Pro 2.0. That is why SF won't just GIVE you a key. SF will give you the key to the Music 2.0, however, I can understand why they wouldn't give you the key to a superior product. Everyone would buy inferior versions, wait for SF to come out with an update, then ask for the key to the superior version.
(I'll buy Acid music3.0, wait for SF to come out with Acid 4.0, then ask for the key to Pro 3.0)
Please, give them the credit they deserve.
If I misread your post, let me apologise, and I hope you get what you're looking for. However, anyone trying to scam a free serial number/key code is likely to encounter backlash from people who, like myself, had to save and cut other expenses in order to purchase this product.

MyST,
Thanks for you answer.
I understand quite well your opinion.
However, it's important to point out that I paid for Music 2.0 AND Pro 3.0 (two licenses).
I can't install Pro 3.0 on my win95 laptop :
that's why I asked for a Pro 2.0 activation.
Pro 2.0 has been discontinued and has less features than the Pro 3.0 I bought, thus ...

Me again...
You have to understand that for SF to give you a key would be the marketing equivalent of shooting themselves in the foot.It doesn't make business sense.
The only thing I would suggest is search for discounted Pro 2.0 on the net.
Even though you are a repeat customer, Customer Service can only do so much! I've had to deal with SF Customer Service before, and they were VERY helpful.
When all is said and done, computers and software evolve at a rediculous pace, and the consumer is left having to pay to keep up. There aren't too many programs that will run on Windows 95 anymore.

After several e-mails to Sonic Foundry, I've got no answers until now. I'm really unhappy.
I think it's a primitive commercial behavior...
Or is it a typical American mind ? ...
If it's the case, I'm proud to be European :-))

I'm still believing that my request is legitime (see my previous messages), because I'm trying to explain the problem, to tell what I need, and get an OFFICIAL activation key.

Ok guys, I give up. Perhaps I'll take the time to search for a crack on the web ! ...

See you later !

American, European, that has nothing to do with it. I'm Canadian (also proud of it!), and I can see that Sonic Foundry's denial of a key to you is understandable, logical and makes business sense.
Just because you want to run 2.0 Pro on your laptop instead of Music 2.0 doesn't mean they should supply you freely what others paid a premium to get. You knew when you bought Music instead of Pro that it was a trimmed down version of Pro. Now you see what is possible with a Pro version and you want to upgrade your 2.0.
I bought Pro 3.0, and if I found out they were giving away free keys to people after 4.0 comes out... I'd be severely pissed!!!
You selected to buy a cheaper version of Acid 2.0, deal with it!! Don't come crying to us because you realize you should have bought the Pro.
Your situation is unfortunate.
If you could see your request through non-biased eyes, you would realise you are wrong in getting upset at Sonic Foundry. You should be upset at yourself for trying to save a few bucks when maybe you shouldn't have.
