Subject:24 Bit Recording with Audiophile 2496

Thanks to everyone who replied to my last post - I decided to buy the Audiophile 2496 soundcard and it is awesome but I cannot see how to record in 24 Bit 96 KHz mode - I am only being given the option of 8 or 16 bit. I have been recording a GR33 synth by direct input to the sound card and using sound forge to digitise the audio. Any ideas?

Only Sound Forge 5 (not Sound Forge 5 XP Studio) and ACID Pro 3 can record in 24-bit at any given sample rate (up to 192 kHz but the Audiophile can do "only" up to 96). (Earlier versions of Sound Forge, I believe, could not record at 24-bit but earlier versions of ACID Pro could.)

You've got the hardware part down, now you just need the software part.

Hello,
Also, If you are using the SP/DIF input, you will only be able to set the rate at the input devices capability. Also there are ways to force the rate on some of the inputs, Check out some of the How-To's on Midimans web site, they help a little more with configuring the card.

See ya, Rockit

Thanks for the info mD - RU the same mD I have spoken to on Hotline at 3dM and GCT servers? I have been working on some new music stuff at 16 Bit 96 KHz with this sound card and I must say it craps on my SB Live audio card.

Cheers

Nope. Not the same person. Sorry. :)

Nice card, isn't it? Amazing to think how far home studio technology (both hardware and software) has gone in just a few years.

(Kudos to Rockit for pointing out the S/PDIF issue. Forgot to mention that.)
