Subject:ACID - Midi Playback

Hi,

I can record MIDI from my Juno 106 in ACID 3 and I can play it back over my soundcard. BUT - what I want is to playback the midi info over my Juno, so that my Juno produces the sound... I cannot seem to make things work. Is there someone who can help me? I'll make revolutionary music for all of you if you just help me through this status quo.

I believe you can only do external MIDI playback with ACID Pro; no other version of ACID lets you externally play MIDI. Could that be the reason why you can't do it? (You didn't mention which ACID 3 product you had.)

Try this:

On your MIDI track, click the Device Selection button (it's the button with a solid square surrounded by a larger, hollow square). Choose, "MIDI Device Preferences." If the Juno is listed under the list of devices, check it and click OK. Click the Device Selection button again and choose the Juno and you should be able to playback MIDI through it.

From what I could gather, the Juno 106 is somewhat old. More than likely that means this device won't be available unless you can install a driver of some sort for it. Could this be the case?

Yes that could be the case but there are many Juno 106 users still - it's a great bass machine - so I'll look for some drivers... Anyone have em???

First some questions:

- What type of MIDI interface is installed in your computer?
- What MIDI out from the computer is connected to the Juno?
- What MIDI ports are set up as Active in ACID?
