I've been having this problem where I've downloaded some loops of the ole internet that won't load into Acid. Some will, some won't. They are saved as .wav files, but when I open them in Sound Forge and save as, I see that the actual type is Mpeg Layer 3 (mp3). Has anyone else experienced this?

thanks

Sounds like some of those WAVs are a little dubious at best. What version of ACID are you using? ACID Pro is the only version of ACID that can accept and use samples/loops with bit depths higher than 16 and sample rates higher than 48kHz. Could that be your problem?

Sound Forge remembers the last type of media you saved a file as. For example, if you previously saved a file in MP3 format in Sound Forge, and then opened a WAV file and go to save it using the "Save As" command, MP3 will pop up as the save type; you just have to select WAV if you wanted to save the media in the same format.

Your better bet: Find out a file type by accessing the sample's properties by using ALT+ENTER on your keyboard in Sound Forge.
