Subject:Spacebar while using ACID demo?

I just downloaded the ACID demo last night. I plan to purchase the full version. I have Windows XP and wanted to see if there were going to be any problems. The first thing I noticed was when I hit the spacebar to play or stop the audio, ACID would hesitate--it wouldn't be instant. Any help with this? With ACID on my old PC I never had this problem. Is it because I have the demo? Windows XP?

ACID Pro 3.0 Demo
Version 3.0c Build 284

Thanks,
Matt

Judging from your specs, you're all clear hardware-wise. Didn't mention your soundcard? Update the drivers for it recently?

Sometimes I get a slight delay of sorts before I actually hear the project while the project plays while using the spacebar. It usually clears itself up. (Nothing's perfect.) Note I'm using Win 98 SE with ACID Pro 3.

Right now I'm using the soundcard that came with the computer until I can afford a new Lynx One soundcard.

Could the soundcard be the problem? I didn't think of that.

Thanks,
Matt

I know that my Audiophile 2496 doesn't give me as many problems (if at all) as my SB Live! did. There are people who've never had a problem with their Soundblaster and compatible cards, but I think I'm just picky. :)
