I'm using Acid Rock 1.0, older program but I'm still a newbie.
Background:
I'm trying to record a guitar track with no success. I can hear the guitar through the PC speakers and I have the PC's volume control set to 'record'. I can see Acid's input meter reacting so I think the program is getting the audio signal properly.

Problem:
When I press the record button, the 'time recorded' meter doesn't change...it doesn't start recording. I'll play for a minute and then I press stop. There's a new event added to the project but it's really short and doesn't seem to contain any audio. The file only conatins about 300K of data.
I'm sure I'm missing something very basic...any help?

You said you could see the input meter in ACID reacting, but that could be just the noise produced by your soundcard. Did you see the meter move considerably when strumming your guitar?

Thanks for your interest. Yes, the meter moves in reaction to guitar strumming/picking.

Could your mixer's settings for your soundcard be muted for recording? It's a possibility.
