Using ACID PH 1: Loads loops and begins playback, then freezes after about six seconds. This computer(Sony Vaio,:Celeron 266 w/ 32meg-RAM) ran ACID flawlessly in the past. I've reinstalled the program without error messages. Suggestions?

Have you defragmented your drive lately?

Is your current project larger than what you've worked on previously?
Once you have more than a few tracks, Acid won't be able to preview
smoothly, especially on that speed computer you have. You may have
to render more complex projects first before you can hear them without
skipping.

I'm loading justa few small samples, and I have reinstalled everything:win 98,ACID, and defrag'd the HD several times. Any thoughts on if the Sony bundled win 98(not SE) when replaced by oem win 98 may cause a problem? Had the computer serviced and oem win 98 replace the recovery disc that the repair tech said was corrupt. Love and respect to all thoughts to this issue.!
Thanks!

Hello,
What version of Acid, And what version of Direct X, and what other upgrades to system lately? ie: Video Card, Sound Card, Network Card, Or Drives.
Also when you say Win98 OEM, is that SE or not, and do you have any unresolved issues in your Device manager?
It sounds like you pretty much redid your whole system, I mean with reinstalling with a different Windows prog.
Any problems with any other programs?
Let me know as much info as you can, and I'll try to help.

See ya, Rockit
