Subject:Acid Pro and 233 Mhz

Is it possible to run Acid Pro on a 233 Mhz processor Laptop ? Anybody know ? What should i watch out for ?

It will run fine. It will run on a 60MHz machine.

However, a slower processor means that it just won't run very fast. The
problems you will have will be that you'll get to the point where playing
your song from the timeline (as opposed to rendering) will get choppy
and skip with fewer tracks than would be possible on a faster machine.
Also, rendering will take longer.

Probably the most critical thing to watch out for is that if you are recording
a track while playing back other tracks, you may have troubles capturing
all the samples without dropping any. You'll just have to try it and see
how it goes.

Basically, Sonic Foundry's recommendation of a 400MHz machine simply
means that you'll have a smoother, more productive, and enjoyable
experience with a computer that fast or better. It doesn't mean that the
software simply won't run on a slower computer.

Using Pro on a 233...
Why don't you try the demo first. I think you will be so limited in what you can do, that the Pro version would be a waste. I can't see how it would handle more than a few tracks playing with effects added to the tracks.
