Yeah, I've got info. SF has informed me that my old 600 Celeron was "not recommended" because it was too weak to handle the data. They said it was the equivalent of a 200mz Pentium2. My solution was to get an Athlon 1G. Definite improvement. Celerons just can't handle A/V stuff, and developers develop for a more mainstream, higher-level CPU to get some performance from their app and not cater to the lowest common denominator. The good news is that great PC's are available dirt cheap right now. |

I agree with Maruuk on this. I've got an 850 mHz Athlon T-Bird. It definitely is a very capable processor. Another thing, RAM is cheap right now, get more. Of coarse, if money is a factor, and you can't spare any right now... I would suggest you defrag regularly and shut down all unneccessary apps. If you have an anti-virus, disable the auto-detect feature. Also, make sure you're not doing something else when you record that might take up memory. Thats all I can think of right now, hope it helps. Later. |
