Subject:hurtin!!! Posted by: quintesense Date:11/30/2001 6:18:45 PM hi guys using acid 1.0, i keep geting skips on my recordings as a dj, i'm using a hp 6645c upgraded to 300 ram 566 mhz celeron proceesor, i'v lowered my wavs and everything..am using crystal audi0 codec.....any info?

They said it was the equivalent of a 200mz Pentium2. My solution was to get an Athlon 1G. Definite improvement. Celerons just can't handle A/V stuff, and developers develop for a more mainstream, higher-level CPU to get some performance from their app and not cater to the lowest common denominator. The good news is that great PC's are available dirt cheap right now.

Another thing, RAM is cheap right now, get more. Of coarse, if money is a factor, and you can't spare any right now... I would suggest you defrag regularly and shut down all unneccessary apps. If you have an anti-virus, disable the auto-detect feature. Also, make sure you're not doing something else when you record that might take up memory. Thats all I can think of right now, hope it helps. Later.
