Subject:smooth pitch slide; FX on que; tempo change: newbie question

There's a few things that I can't just figure out if they're at all in the program or part of the FX:

What I'd like to do is take something such as a simple synth chord, for example, and shift the pitch of it to a different octave smoothly--no instant jumps by cutting the track and changing the octave that way.

Long-ass sentence:
Then another thing I'd like to do is start an effect, such as an echo, cutting it in when I want to in something like a specific word in a dialogue, and by not having to raise the level of the echo, because then there will still be the echo of the dialogue before that word over the word that I'd like to have echoed (so is at least my experience so far).

And lastly, I haven't found a way to que in a tempo change or series of tempo changes, like if I near the end of a song and just want it to "spin down to a halt" like how a turn table does when the motor is turned off.

If anyone can show me what tricks I am missing, knows of any examples, or if Acid can even do these things please tell me; I'd be sooooo relieved and grateful. I'm kindof at a mindstump-standstill with what I'd like to do with this program till I can figure it out.--TIA

Try this:

Duplicate the synth track by right-clicking the track icon in the track list and selecting, "Duplicate Track." Pitch shift the duplicated track as you desire.

Next, select all the events on the duplicated track and delete them. Then, paint or draw in an event at a point a short time before the original track ends. (Both the original track's end point and the duplicate track's beginning point should overlap a bit.)

Next, using either the Draw Tool or Select Tool, select the "overlapping" events and press F on your keyboard. Instant crossfade. Smooooth. :)

Maybe try using a Multi-tap Delay FX on the spoken word part? You can probably layer it right if you know your math. (1,000 ms=1 second.)

I wish on the "motor off turntable effect". Still looking for an effective way to do it myself. (I can only get as far as using the "Pitch Bend" effect in Sound Forge but that's it.) Anyone have a suggestion?
