??? 1. You should be able to select your audio card specifically using "Options>Preferences>Audio tab" on the menu bar. (I don't have a problem selecting my Audiophile 2496 as a device but I am using Win98 SE.) Are your soundcard's drivers properly installed? 2. You'll have to sort out your latency and clock rate issues with your soundcard's hardware/software settings. Example: My Audiophile lets me set the latency via its own control panel. I don't have issues with default save path or window position, as ACID remembers the last locations for me. (Again note that I'm using Win98 SE.) You should be able to adjust MIDI sync preferences via the same Preferences dialog, under "Sync." Adjustable time signatures would be welcome in my book. Make a product suggestion? You should be able to adjust project properties by using ALT+ENTER on your keyboard and setting bit-depth and sample rate and whether or not you want to start all new projects with these settings. Note that ACID Pro is the only version of ACID that can work with bit-depths higher than 16 and sample rates higher than 48 kHz. (You didn't mention which version of ACID you had.) HTH, Iacobus |

> 1. audio device selection. it only lists win sound mapper as a choice but i only have wamiracks. > Depends on what version of ACID you have? ACID Pro will permit you to use "Wave Classic Drivers". You can change this in the Audio preference page. > 2. latency, bit rate, clock rate, meter e.g. 2/4,3/4,4/4 etc, midi/smpte sync, default save path and window position save. > Again, in ACID Pro you can set the buffer size that ACID works with when doing playback. Are you having "latency" issues that you are trying to solve? Latency with regard to what? (There are different types of latency.) The project properties permit you to change the bit depth and sample rate - again, in ACID Pro. ACID only does 4/4 Meter in its display. Different meters can be done, but it is a manual thing as far as the ruler and layout goes. We are looking at this for the next version. SMPTE slave/master and MIDI Clock are all available as part of ACID Pro. Peter |

At first glance, all the members of the ACID family of products do share a common interface—but if you look deeper into the programs, that's where it stops, especially where ACID Pro is concerned. Take a look at the comparison chart. Iacobus |

ACID DJ and pro have many different features. ACID DJ does not permit the use of anything other than the Sound Mapper. It only supports 16 bit audio. It does not support MTC/MIDIClock sync. There is no way to enable these features, you must upgrade to ACID Pro. Peter |
