Blue-Ray Burning problem

Bone Studio wrote on 2/2/2013, 3:42 PM
I am a new user of this software (Latest Version) and my Burner's (LG BH10) drivers are up to date.I have had no problems burning Blue-Ray disks with 'Corel Video Studio'.
I have burnt DVD's with no problem in 'DVD A' . I have tried 3 times using standard settings.I tried the all in one Render/burn and pre-rendering the files to a folder then burning from disk image. Each time the Burn process has been stopped and not in the same spot (once at 10% once at 30% once at 50%) ...showing the error

"the write failed because the drive returned error information that could not be recovered from"

Has anyone delt with this before and can help...

Are you able to output a prepared file (ISO) to your hard drive?

You likely have a compatibility problem between media, your OS, and your burner firmware.

Please relate your burner specs ?
Your choices if any of firmware revision/
Your OS?
Your media ?
Have you burned regular DVD/CD-rom s with this same burner? On the same platform it is current?

Thanks Everyone..

<Are you able to output a prepared file (ISO) to your hard drive?>
Yes there's seemingly no Problem there.

The OS is Windows 7, 32-bit
4.00 GB (3.25 Usable) RAM
AMD phenom (tm) II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz.

The media is Verbatim BD-R LTH Type (printable) single layer
Which I have used successfully with no probs Burning with VideoStudio Pro V15
Before I posted my initial Post I did a firmware check on the LG BH10 Drive and that came up with having the latest version.

Just wondered if anyone else had had this problem..
I saw another thread (on this foreum) someone reporting the same error (but he/she was burning a DVD) but there was no answers there.
I have burnt DVD's using this software with no problem.
I'll try one more go at burning it from scratch.

Before you possibly waste another disc, please advise whether you can create an ISO file only version (without burning a disc).

If you can, you might try the free Imgburn or other software to actually burn the ISO file to a disc rather than DVDA.

Thanks...
Yes The software has no problems creating the ISO file. The second attempt I thought i'd split the process into two .After creating the File I restarted the program and started the burning from the 'disk image'.
But really why would I want to have to then use another program to burn (like immage burn) when this program if working should do it.
I have had no trouble with Videostudio completing the task and have no problems just going back to that...
I have been using 'Sound Forge' for years and i like how that works and Movie Studio
(which my copy is the full version and not a trial) seems to have a few features I like that VS hasn't even though it is missing/(or i haven't worked out yet) other features i need.
Cheers...I really just need to hear from someone who has had the problem and fixed it.
I noticed a capture problem (unrelated to my problem) was solved just by having the destination folder one off the root folder......hehe
Cheers

We are trying to help you diagnose where the problem lies.

Can you burn your ISO file successfully using other software? If so, the problem may lie with your DVDA installation. If not, the problem may lie with your burner and/or its driver.

I agree with Peter. See if you can burn that ISO as a BluRay using the free software ImgBurn.

Thanks Peter & Steve...
I went back and re-rendered the Video's in Moviestudio, and opened DVD A independantly and created the new project myself (instead of importing) and it worked this time.
The time it didn't work (and this may have been the issue - not sure) I used the 'Make Blueray button' which then rendered and sent to DVD A the file.when in DVD A I used the add media and added another previously created movie file (same project settings) all the previews worked and there was no warning/error messages.
Any way if in the future i'll make all the movie files (if i'm having more than 1) then do the Burning separate. Cheers Everyone.
