Subject:mic volume

my mics sound really low,and im not getting good waves.i've tried turning up the recording volume in volume control.Could it be that im using cheap mics,or can i turn up the volume somewhere in acid.

Are you looking at the mic volume control in the playback mixer or in the
recording mixer? The signal that gets sent to Acid is controlled by the
recording mixer, but the level you hear while testing the mic (and the
default you see on your screen) is the playback mixer.

In the mixer, click Options, Properties, Recording. You will now be
setting the recording level for the mic. Most any mic should be able to
produce close to full scale levels if you push the slider up high enough.
