"No device" is showing in options>prefs>cd>write drive yet both the DVD and CD are showing in Acid explorer and both play cd's fine. I am also unable to extract audio from CD - the drives are showing - but no tracks in the extract window. I re-installed ACID and re-installed the CD/DVD drivers from device manager. I had no winaspi.dll... so I ran an adaptec winaspi installer. still "No Device" any suggestions? I am running acid 3.0c on a HP VL800 with w2000 pro. With Hitachi DVD/CD gd8000 and a HP CD writer cd16 - both internal. Thanks in advance -- |

Hello, Does the writer drive show up in the adaptec software and are you able to write cd's with it? Are you doing all this logged on as administrator? Rockit |

Yes, I installed Acid as administrator and I am logged in as administrator. HP's MyCD recognizes both drives - but I have yet to actually write to a CD with it -- I will give it a try. I do not have adaptec burning software loaded. I found a post that recommended loading an ASPI manager to solve the "no device" problem in Sound Forge. I had no *ASPI* file in system32, so I found the adaptec winaspi installer and gave it a go. Thanks |

No problem writing CD's with the HP MyCD software (even with the adaptec winaspi32 installed)- Acid is still unable to extract CD tracks and does not recognize the CD writer. (with and without winaspi32 installed) Any other suggestions? Thanks Sean |

This may sound stupid, but have you tried selecting your CD burner via the drop-down menu next to "Write drive"? By default (at least for me), ACID always lists, "No Device." All I have to do is click the drop-down menu and select my Yamaha burner. HTH, Iacobus |
