yay..yet another update..i got all excited as usual, thinking maybe all my bugs were fixed...ran home and installed it and did the usual setup...sf midi router..generate midi clock.. pressed play.. it's almost in sync..er..oh, i guess not. when the loop is short i get a really nice little speedup/slowdown on reason at the loop point, at least for the first few times around, after which it just starts to drift wherever it feels like. it does seems slightly more solid than it used to in 3.0c but, well, it's still useless.. so. how many more versions will it take to make this work y'all? what else can i do to try to get it to work properly? or just give us rewire and asio instead, that's 100x better than sync hacks with faked hardware anyway, especially for timing critical music. like this newfangled "techno acid dance" music all the kids are making these days :) |

Amen. This is gettin' reediculous! Midi sync eliminates rendering mixes between apps in sync (unless you want to get into a whole 'nother klugefest), not that you can even get sync in the first place. Are ya listenin' SF??? Is 4.0 with ReWire almost ready for release? Are you taking Acid into the future with real midi, audio, and compatibility with the real world, or is Acid going to remain a little boutique toy that forces pros to waste precious production time constantly bouncing between separate apps to gain some benefit from Acid's excellent, but o-so-limited and buggy capabilities? The answer must be YES to the future if Acid is going to avoid getting eaten alive by its cheap and good Acid-compatible competitors. |
