so I upgraded to acid pro 3.0e, and I've got 8 wav files loaded in, each is about 6:40 in length (they were mix downs I rendered separately). I needed to route one wav to an effects bus, but the way it works is this:
the wav plays on channel A by default. At the 5:20 marker, it slowly starts increasing the volume on channel B (which has a vibrato effect). When I play Acid, I hear it all fine. But, if I do a Render As from the File menu to render my whole program, Acid without fail always crashes at the 32% completion marker. If I kill the process, acid says there's a background process and it has to wait, do I want to cancel? I say yes, and it just sits. I have to kill the process. If, however, I take out the 2 buses, Acid renders fine. This is sooooooooo annoying. Is there at least a workaround anyone can think of?

Hello,

Can you give some system specs like sound card type and how it's configured in Acid, and the rest of your systems stuff, MB type, and proc. type

sure:
Windows 2000 SP-2
Latest DirectX
Acid Pro 3.0e
Playback on SB Live! Value
Record on Echo Mia
512 MB RAM, AMD Athlon 1.33GHz processor, Asus A7M266 Motherboard with Via Chipset

I found a workaround: I duplicated the sample, and instead of routing the first between 2 effects buses, I simply assigned one bus per sample. A little convoluted, but at least I was able to finsih my track. I've never previously had any probs with Acid, it's been great. And I've always used win2k with it too.

Hello again,

See my other post on your topic.

I was telling you how you can use the Pre/Post feature on the track bus volume sliders to keep sound signal from bleeding through to other tracks through effect busses.

See ya, Rockit

If you would...

- Describe you mixer setup _exactly_. i.e. number of busses, number of assignable fx, plugins used, how they are routed to hardware and to each other.
- all of your tracks (6 of them, correct?) are disk based tracks?
- Describe how you are doing the "fades" across channels.

If possible, could you email the project (just the acd file, not the wave files)?

Peter
