When I record in midi from my drum machine (Zoon RT 323), the actual drum kit sounds change when I play it back in Acid. Even when I change the midi device (Microsoft Sound Mapper or Santa Cruz DLS synth) the sounds are terrible and lack bass and symbols or hats. Also the midi goes off sync from my loops after a while. Any feedback/suggestions is greatly appreciated. |

If you are only recording MIDI information, you are not recording the actual sound from your drum machine. In other words you have to record the information, THEN have the computer trigger your drum machine with that information to get the same sounds. What it sounds like is happening to you is the information being recorded is then triggering a wave table on an internal sound card. The sounds are usually not so good on these cards. I'm not sure of your setup so I can't tell you to record the AUDIO outs from your drum machine into the sound card, but that is what I would try. |

Thanx, my setup is simple. My Drum Machine is connected to my PC via Fast Lane USB Midi connector. I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard (If that matters). "In other words you have to record the information, THEN have the computer trigger your drum machine with that information to get the same sounds" How do I do that? Is there a separate piece of hardware I need? Thanx again for helping this "n00b" out :-) |

You would need to come MIDI OUT of the computer to MIDI IN of the drum machine. I would suggest trying to find some basic info. on MIDI. Maybe a search on the web. |

Hello, You also need to setup the Midi options in Acid, in the options dialog click the Sync tab, and select the Midi ports your going to have connected to the drum machine. See ya, Rockit |
