Hi, i'm new to all this, but I need some advice on which Acid program will help me accomplish what I need. What I'm basically looking to do is mix songs together, just like you would have when you get a mix cd. I had a friend do one for me and he said he used one of the Acid programs. I downloaded the free Acid Express, but i couldn't figure out how to mix the songs. It seemed like it was only giving room enough to work with one song even though I "pasted" like 5 songs. If anyone can give me advice I would really appreciate it!!! |

I'm guessing that your end goal is to actually burn a mix CD. Is this what you're after? If so, i'll also assume that you have a CD burner in your computer. What software did it come with? Most drives these days include Easy CD Creator. That all by itself will let you rip songs from CDs and burn them back to a new audio CD. There's no need for any other software beyond that. If you are looking for something a little slicker, then the Sonic Foundry program i would suggest to you is SIREN Jukebox. It's only $30 for the full registered version, and has about seventy zillion features for ripping, cataloging, MP3 encoding, burning, playing, etc. It's also really cool to watch! If on the other hand you actually want to do some music editing, then probably either Sound Forge or Vegas Audio would be the way to go. Acid is designed specifically for creating music, and is rather clunky for editing. |

Thanks for the advice. Will the Siren Jukebox let me change the tempo of the songs. I guess, will let me slow down bits and pieces of songs or flip it around? Thanks for the advice!! |
