audio info

I've just gone back to giving V12 another whirl after the latest update. One thing bugging me (and I can't remember if it was this way previously) is the lack of info regarding audio length when I click on an audio track in Vegas explorer. All the other info is there; 320 kbps, 44,100 Hz, Stereo, MPEG Layer 3. But no length of the track, which all other versions of Vegas I've ever used has done. Am I missing something here?

i think you mean "clip" length.

rt-click a clip - properties or select in project media (you may need to scroll right).

a "track" in vegas may contain a "track" from a cd...

if you drag a 2-minute audio clip to the beginning of a blank project, the length of that track is 2 minutes. add another 1-minute clip at the end, your track is now 3 minutes long...

Yes, sorry wrong terminology. I know that I can find the info in "properties", but in previous versions of vegas, it was shown beneath the explorer window.

Here's a couple of printscreens (you may have to zoom in a bit)

I too have noticed the change and would love to see the length info listed as it used to be. Sony, please bring it back. :-)

Just to be pedantic, a clip on the Timeline is called an "event" in Vegas, leaving clip to refer to the length of the shot taken with the camera. Not important here as we know where we are but it can make things clearer when considering some questions.

I know this is an old thread, but I've only just noticed this information missing from VP12.

For video, all the relevant information is displayed when you click on clip in the Explorer window. But for audio, the clip length is not displayed.

I've looked on the Internal tab for any likely setting, but have drawn a blank...

No, it never got fixed lenny. One of those really useful features that all versions had up to V12. Would have thought it an easy fix too. Annoying.
