bottom track below Chroma key track

NathanAyres wrote on 7/15/2014, 9:25 PM
I am following the tutorials in Vegas 11, putting my green screen on track 1 and the background to show through below it. Track 2 is not showing up. Track 1 is still showing black instead of allowing the background to show. I cannot figure out why it is not behaving like the 3 video tutorials I have watched.

Thanks for your help.

Can you post a screenshot of the tracks?

Here is a link to view the screen shot. I cannot see/find a way to directly upload it to this post. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi,

you should show/explain which chroma key effect are you using and which are the settings, otherwise it is impossible to help you...

Do you have the chromakey effect applied to the final output, in the viewer window? If so, get rid of it from there.

You need to apply the chromakey effect to the event (i.e. the "clip" on the timeline). Drag the chromakey effect from the FX window and drop it on the clip of the lady with the puppet, or right-click on that clip and add it, etc., then adjust the parameters to get a good key.

Sorry for the missing info. Thanks for much for working with me.

That was it! I am so used to working with Ultra. I always applied the effect to the box preview. I deleted the clip and started over, applying the Chroma key to the clip in the time line. It worked. Thank you, and thank you both for giving me hope and then help. (By the way if this sounds flowery, I am Nathan's wife. :-)--virtual hugs to you both.)
